Position Summary:
The Media Scheduler executes and participates in the development of on-air promotional campaigns for The Hub. This role implements on-air strategic media plans based on on-air best practices. This is a temporary, full-time position.
Responsibilities:
• Schedules promotions for Discovery Kids until the launch of The Hub, when the role fully schedules for the new network.
• Participates in planning the daily schedule of promotions for Discovery Kids/The Hub.
• Compiles scheduling documentation and source materials.
• Compiles reports on promotions.
• Participates in implementing and tracking promotions for reaching viewers and increasing ratings and viewership.
• Conducts analyses and evaluations of promotional campaigns.
• Applies established analytical and concept development skills to trafficking and scheduling of promotions and other content.
• Coordinates inventory control with Discovery’s Media Logistics and Network Operations teams.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• A minimum of 2 years related experience is required. Experience in on-air promotions scheduling or other media scheduling is highly preferred.
• A Bachelors degree is required or equivalent years of experience.
• Basic knowledge of television promotions with an emphasis on scheduling and trafficking promotions is required. Knowledge of children’s television is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of broadcast or television trafficking is required.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of traffic and scheduling systems a plus.
• Basic marketing subject matter expertise and competence in developing marketing programs.
• Analytical with the ability to be flexible when approaching and implementing on-air strategies and tactics.
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
