The Hollywood Reporter is adding to staff. We are seeking an expert in strategy, innovation and creativity with a strong pulse and connection to the business of entertainment. The Head of Marketing will oversee THR’s marketing department and will be responsible for developing innovative, idea-driven 360* programs that elevate THR’s brand, creative and custom content for all our partners. These include six and seven-figure bespoke programs that are authentic, engage audiences, and enhance global consumer brand partnerships.
We are seeking a visionary who is sales minded with the drive to win business, someone who will identify revenue opportunities while contributing to new business growth across endemic and consumer verticals. Responsibilities include providing leadership and oversight of THR’s marketing team and in collaboration with the Head of Events, leading brainstorming sessions and working with senior management teams across digital, video, print, IRL, experiential and editorial, producing solutions to meet clients’ business and brand objectives.
The Head of Marketing will be responsible for elevating the aesthetic of The Hollywood Reporter brand marketing materials, shaping market perception among influential consumers and an ever-expanding audience. We are seeking a hands-on contributor, The Hollywood Reporter values an engaged leadership team with key contributions at all levels.
The ideal candidate must be an ideator and creative thinker, innovative and with an understanding of digital/video/social/events packages that enhance the THR brand and our partner executions. The Head of Marketing will manage the day-to-day operations of the marketing team that produces custom advertising, high-profile events, licensing, brand materials and other promotional plans while managing vendor relations, developing relationships with corporate as well as cross-brand opportunities. The Head of Marketing should understand key marketing performance metrics and tracking tools to provide market research and intelligence, insights, forecasts, competitive analyses, and consumer trends that translate into actionable insights.
Qualifications:
• Prior content publishing or agency marketing management, 15 years’ experience
• Results-oriented with a strong digital, video and social portfolio
• Proven success in big picture thinking and executing effective digital, editorial, social, PR strategies
• Deep knowledge of emerging digital platforms and technologies and new product innovations - well informed on industry trends and ahead of the curve, especially with regards to video and social monetization
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines and quick turnaround
• Proficiency in digital performance, user experience, multi-platform content execution and effective mobile and social media strategies
• Strong leadership and management skills
