The Manager, Events will support The Hollywood Reporter’s events and custom content team bringing the brand to life through world-class industry and consumer-facing experiences, video content, and high-impact advertiser partnership programs. This role requires a high-judgement, self-motivated, meticulous, creative and strategic thinker to provide the department with administrative and production support that will ensure flawless delivery, alignment with brand standards and ultimately revenue growth.
This position will be involved with all aspects of event planning, custom content production, and brand partnership coordination including P&L management, invoice submission and vendor payments, production timelines, legal contract review, sponsor management and client servicing, PR and talent relations. Knowledge and passion for media, entertainment, arts and culture, current events as well as the technology and marketing tools to deliver successful events, content and brand partnerships are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to senior event department staff from planning and ideation to execution and post-event wrap-up
- Assist in tracking and managing budgets, expenses and financial reconciliation in partnership with Finance and Accounts Payable to ensure all financials remain aligned with strategic goals
- Support the team in managing partnerships with brands and vendors to optimize event budgets and create cost-saving efficiencies
- Conduct research on event venues and third-party vendors, compiling recommendations and assisting with vendor negotiations as directed
- Coordinate end-to-end production of virtual and in-person screening events, sponsor activations and content capture from concept through execution and post-event recaps
- Facilitate timely feedback collection, track approvals, and manage event collateral
- Support senior team members in identifying and developing new event opportunities
- Perform additional administrative and operational duties as assigned to assist leadership
- Under the direction of senior staff, manage event logistics including venue selection, food & beverage, rentals, staging, lighting, A/V, security, transportation, staffing, and load-in/load-out schedules
- Coordinate talent logistics including travel, scheduling, riders, and on-site coordination.
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Editorial, Marketing, Social, Legal, Finance, PR, and Production teams to execute integrated programs
Qualifications & Experience
- 3-5 years of event and content production experience, including live and virtual events with food & beverage, audio/visual, and vendor management logistics
- Strong financial acumen with proven ability to manage P&Ls and revenue models
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in media, entertainment, or agency environments preferred
- Proven ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment
- Comfortable working in a very fast-paced, high-energy environment with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, ensuring seamless execution of events and projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in G Suite, Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills preferred)
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Comfortable interacting professionally with high-level executives, talent and media partners
Salary/Benefits
$80,000 - $100,000 /year USD
