Director of Post oversees all post production activities for The Production Hive with an emphasis on scheduling, staffing and workflow management. Director of Post is directly across media prep, media management, offline, online, graphics, post audio, and deliverables departments. A great attitude and willingness to help are a high priority! This position would be based in our Knoxville TN location.
Managerial Duties/Responsibilities:
- Motivate and develop the post department, drive change, and make continuous improvements
- Hire and train new employees
- Organize and oversee the schedules and work of assigned staff
- Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Handle discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Hire post-production personnel
- Troubleshoot and resolve post workflow issues
- Communicate with production teams on post production matters
- Input post data into cost trackers in support of accounting's reporting requirements
- Maintain schedules for offline, online, and final delivery
- Regularly communicate with SVP of Production and operations management team on post related matters
- Continue work to standardize and improve production workflows
- Conduct weekly meetings with manager, coordinator and production teams
- Conduct project kickoff meetings
- Advise on post production CAPEX investments
- Facilitate training opportunities for post staff
- Directly manage Managers of Media Prep, Offline, Online, Deliverables, Audio, Graphics, and Transcripts Departments.
- Complete annual performance reviews of staff
- Liaise with network clients on post production matters
- Liaise with third party clients on post production staffing, workflows, schedules
- Ensure compliance with network client's technical and delivery specifications
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities
- Excellent multi-tasking skills
- Excellent proactive problem-solving
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent ability to work under pressure
Software Requirements:
- MacOS Mojave and up
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Avid Media Composer and Nexis Client
- Nexis Management Console
- Google Drive, Sheets, Docs
- Clickup
- Spectralogic, Storage DNA, and/or other LTO systems
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 years of post production supervisory experience required
- Director of post experience preferred
- Unscripted television experience preferred
- Ability to work department hours of 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday through Friday
- Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime on as-needed basis, with short-notice
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
