ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for a creative, highly organized Social Video Editor / Producer to join our small team as we prepare for the release of a feature documentary and begin developing several new projects, campaigns, and pitches.
This is not a traditional social media manager position. It is a hands-on creative role for someone who can edit, produce, develop ideas, and occasionally assist with directing, shooting, and production.
The ideal candidate understands internet culture, documentary storytelling, fast-paced social editing, and how to turn both newly filmed and archival footage into content that builds an audience, creates excitement, and drives action.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Edit compelling short-form video content, primarily for Instagram and Facebook.
• Combine new interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, archival material, and retro clips into entertaining social stories.
• Turn rough ideas, references, and raw footage into polished content.
• Create strong hooks, pacing, captions, graphics, music moments, and visual payoffs.
• Produce multiple versions, lengths, and formats for different audiences and campaign goals.
• Use Photoshop and After Effects to create titles, graphics, motion elements, and other visual assets.
• Assist with the filming and production of short-form content, interviews, promotional material, and behind-the-scenes pieces.
• Occasionally help direct talent or guide simple social shoots.
• Source clips, images, archival materials, references, memes, and creative assets.
• Help label, organize, and maintain footage, project files, and media libraries.
• Collaborate on creative brainstorming, campaign development, documentary promotion, and new-business pitches.
• Help manage content calendars and support major campaign and release moments.
• Track platform trends, audience conversations, and cultural moments that may create content opportunities.
• Support paid social campaigns by helping create and adapt performance-focused creative.
• Handle occasional general production-assistant responsibilities when needed.
• Work comfortably through feedback, revisions, and shifting priorities.
• Deliver work on schedule and keep multiple projects organized.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• Proven experience creating and editing successful social video content.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Working proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and After Effects.
• A strong understanding of short-form storytelling, pacing, hooks, captions, aspect ratios, and platform-specific formats.
• Ability to find strong moments within interviews, long-form footage, and archival material.
• Strong creative instincts and an understanding of internet culture.
• Ability to take a project from concept through final delivery.
• Highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable working quickly without sacrificing quality.
• Able to communicate clearly and collaborate closely with a small creative team.
• Comfortable receiving feedback and producing multiple revisions when necessary.
BONUS SKILLS:
• Experience shooting or directing short-form content.
• Familiarity with cameras, lighting, audio, and basic production equipment.
• Experience with CapCut, Canva, or similar fast-turnaround creative tools.
• Experience creating content for paid social campaigns.
• Familiarity with social analytics and performance-based creative testing.
• Experience working with archival, documentary, or retro footage.
• Interest in action sports, motorsports, or creator-driven culture.
WHO YOU ARE:
You are creative without being precious, fast without being careless, and organized enough to keep several projects moving at once.
You understand that the first version is not always the final version, and you are comfortable refining an edit until it works.
You know how to identify the strongest story, joke, emotional beat, visual moment, or cultural hook within a piece of footage.
You follow online trends but do not simply copy them. You know how to adapt ideas so they feel original, specific, and connected to the project.
You are confident working independently but enjoy collaborating, brainstorming, and helping ideas evolve.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is an in-person position based in our Silver Lake creative space, Los Angeles.
Reliable transportation is required. Our workplace includes friendly dogs, so applicants should be comfortable working around them.
The position is currently approximately 2-3 days per week, with the potential to grow as documentary promotion, branded campaigns, and new productions expand.

$200-$300 per day, depending on experience, skill level, and responsibilities.
