We are currently looking for a Business Affairs and Project Manager. This is a key hire for our company. The position will report directly to our Co-Chairman and will be highly visible. We are seeking a dynamic candidate who is a self-thinker and motivator. This candidate should demonstrate leadership qualities and solid business & entertainment industry experience. Additionally, this person must be able to work under specific timelines. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing management team and be an integral part of the company that is poised for significant growth.
Responsibilities:
-Negotiate with writer, producer, talent, production company and other related deals and interact with their agents, managers and outside attorneys
-Proactively review and evaluate the contractual financial obligation of agreements and deal memos for all above
-Work closely with Studio legal affairs to assist in finalizing agreements
-Deal with production issues as they arise
-Effectively communicate the status and tradeoffs with other team members including Creative, Production, Marketing, Accounting, and Finance department
-Liaise with International Partners and Third-Party Licensees in connection with Licensing & Merchandising Agreements and Strategies
-Manage the Licensing & Merchandising agreements of the company
-Make recommendations on policies, strategies, objectives and activities that, once implemented, improve operations and/or save money
-Provides general direction and guidance in the Licensing & Merchandising area
-Modifications to existing company programs to produce better results (output, timeliness, quality or cost savings)
-Ensure operation effectively, achieve company objectives
-Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
-Flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities that add value to the company and handle special projects as requested by senior management
Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree required, Masters or MBA preferred
-Must have a comprehensive working knowledge of film industry agreements, guild and union regulations (DGA, SAG-AFTRA, WGA, #839), contract law and intellectual property rights (as applicable to the entertainment industry)
-Deep understanding of media business mode
-At least 5 years of experience in film, TV and entertainment industry or related realm.
-Familiarity with IP Licensing, Merchandising and Product Placement
-Must have proficient technical (Microsoft office) skills
-Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Must be able to work well under pressure, to meet firm deadlines.
-Must be the finance ''thought leader'' for the organization
-Must be able to manage multiple priorities, many that are time sensitive
