Full Time Job
The Role
As Audio-visual / IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for operational activities that plan, maintain, execute, and enhance the company's digital content aggregation and distribution solutions, social media presence, and web sites. You will play a key support role in maintaining and optimizing video and content workflows, designing and building new workflows, and diagraming processes. Since media operations don't always go exactly as planned, you will need to understand the technology and end-to-end workflow to quickly resolve issues. Excellent customer service, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential in this position.
Primary Duties
Digital Asset Management
• Download, rip, or otherwise obtain media for/from clients
• Assess media and apply best compression settings
• Edit media using MPEG Streamclip, Final Cut, or Sony Movie Studio
• Organize all client media using existing labeling conventions
• Upload, organize, label, tag, and QC all client media
• Evaluate media to provide best thumbnail image as required
• Generate and send custom presentation links for client reels
• Generate reports and track analytics of all files and presentations created
• Copy, rip, or burn DVDs of client material as required
Content Management
• Create, update, QC, and otherwise manage all front-end web site content, including written, playable, and PDF / downloadable content for all company websites
• Update client resumes, add and remove clients, make other client site changes as requested
• Responsible for developing, implementing and managing content workflow, distribution, archiving, and storage
• Troubleshoot departmental site content and SEO issues
Social Media Management
• Manage departmental Social Media pages, including user roles and QC-ing posts and comments
• Post content to Social Media pages as requested, including sourcing high quality images
Design/Graphics
• Lead and manage projects and oversee web and graphic design
• Work with teams to devise and implement social media strategy, including brand voice
• Maintain overall brand strategy across platforms, including use of internal style guide
• Provide graphic design support as requested (both print and digital)
Audio-Visual
• Support operators with taping room issues. Troubleshoot lighting, audio, video, and back-end processing issues
• Support diverse teams with media needs in conference rooms, including setting up and troubleshooting Polycom and Skype systems, presentations, and screenings
Experience/Qualifications
• 2+ yrs. experience in Audio-visual/IT support, ideally in a video delivery environment
• Experience with Wordpress and other content management tools
• Experience with MPEG Streamclip, Handbreak, or and other video transcoders
• Experience with streaming media technology and online video platform workflows (transcoding, video streaming file formats, codecs, DRM, and CDN)
• Knowledge and/or experience handling studio media assets and processes
• Strong fundamentals in Video QC standards and practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common workflow exceptions
• Strong knowledge of Wiredrive, ActivePitch, YouTube, Vimeo, and other hosted content delivery platforms
• Experience with digital content distribution workflows regardless of industry
• Experience with Video and Audio Codecs
• Experience with MPEG transport streams, encoders, transcoders, and media converters
• Experience with streaming technologies
• Understanding of technologies used in web and mobile video delivery with direct experience defining and building optimized video profiles in this space
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines, organize, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Superb communication skills - verbal, written, and presentation
• Organized, focused, and analytical problem solver
• Ability to convert analytical insights into concepts and recommendations.
• Self-reliant and able to efficiently prioritize and complete tasks working independently with minimal supervision
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
