Social Media Assistant Manager / Video Editor

The Role
We're seeking a part-time Social Media Assistant Manager / Video Editor to help create, publish, and manage short-form video content and community engagement across all social platforms. This role is ideal for someone who loves storytelling, understands internet culture, and knows how to package podcast moments into scroll-stopping clips. Also perfect for someone looking for remote flexibility and creativity.

Responsibilities
Content Creation & Editing:
-Edit 1-4 short-form social media videos per week from podcast footage.
-Create compelling thumbnails, closed captions, and draft post captions for each video
-Optimize videos for platform-specific formats and best practices

Publishing & Platform Management:
-Publish content across TikTok, Instagram (Reels + feed as needed), Facebook, YouTube Shorts, Spotify Shorts

Community Management:
-Reply to comments across all social platforms (approximately 1 hour per week)
-Monitor DMs and:
-Respond when appropriate
-Flag or report anything important, sensitive, or urgent to producers

Support for Hosts:
-Assist with hosts' individual social media content as needed (repurposing clips, formatting posts, light editing, accepting collaborations, sharing media, etc.)

Trend Monitoring & Strategy:
-Monitor social media trends, viral formats, and audio that The Dating Detectives could participate in
-Proactively suggest content ideas that align with the show's tone and audience

Qualifications:
-Experience editing short-form video for social media (podcasts preferred but not required)
-Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and platform trends
-Familiarity with captioning tools and accessibility best practices
-Comfortable engaging with online audiences and managing comments professionally
-Organized, reliable, and able to work independently
-Bonus: Familiarity with comedy, true crime, or dating/relationship content

Tools:
-Must be comfortable using tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar
-Experience with Canva or similar design tools is a plus

Availability:
-Must be available to work Mondays and Tuesdays
-Approximately 5-10 hours per week, with flexibility around posting schedules
-One weekly call with producers
