Creative Executive, Film The Confluential Company
Role Description
The Confluential Company seeks a Creative Executive, Film. This position requires a track record of successful film development and proven industry relationships. You must have the ability to identify exceptional material and give creative guidance and feedback to top level talent on concepts, IP, pitches, and scripts. Comprehensive knowledge of and experience working with top-tier film talent, as well as talent from a variety of artistic mediums, required. You will be joining a self-motivated, passionate, and highly collaborative team environment. This position reports to the Head of Film.
Responsibilities
• Work with the film department to manage the creative strategy on projects in development, helping writers shape stories from concept through script.
• Work closely with writers to develop story and scripts. Participate in notes calls and meetings.
• Read and Cover Submissions
• Build and maintain relationships with creatives, executives, managers, and agents to scout emerging voices/potential collaborators
• Create and maintain a comprehensive writer database covering samples, credits, script notes, meeting notes, and representation.
• Conducting research as needed and maintain general tracking of industry players, overall deals, trends, and the competitive landscape.
• Create writer, department head and talent lists based on the needs of a project.
• Coordinate and interface with other departments including but not limited to: marketing,business affairs, legal, PR, creative, production, and post-production teams.
• Cover set on our projects in production if need be (set experience is a plus, but not mandatory)
• Sourcing and support of creative projects.
Qualifications
• At the minimum have spent 1 year successfully on the desks of SVP/EVP/Pres of studio divisions
OR someone who has worked for 1-2 years with a studio film producer.
• Extremely organized with a high attention to detail.
• Knowledge of industry talent and trends.
• Have exceptional artistic vision and creative skills to develop an original film
• Broad network of writers, producers, and artists
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent story skills.
• Promptness & sense of urgency; you understand the importance of being on-time and acting with
urgency on all matters.
• Solutions-oriented: no problem is too small or too big to handle.
• Can-do attitude: you are energized by chaos and thrive in environments with ambiguity.
• Highly organized and comfortable in a fast-paced environment, ability to prioritize large volume of
projects.
• Must be detail oriented, proactive, organized, and can follow-up often and in a friendly and
courteous manner.
• Bachelor's degree is highly preferred, but not required.
