About The Audiophile Society:
The Audiophile Society is the brainchild of Grammy nominated composer, pianist, and audio pioneer David Chesky, one of the founders of Chesky Records and HDtracks. The label focuses on bringing even more realistic three-dimensional recordings to market with their Mega-Dimensional Sound, The Audiophile Society's name for their unique two-channel 3D audio that can play on all existing two-channel stereo systems, while showcasing emerging and established artists working in any and all genres. The ultimate goal of The Audiophile Society is to change the way you hear music.
Internship Responsibilities:
Audiophile Society interns will report directly to A&R and Label Manager Matt Rose and label owner David Chesky. In addition to the following tasks, 30 minutes a week will be set aside for one-on-one mentorship. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Press outreach for new releases
• Grassroots marketing efforts on platforms such as Reddit and Discord
• Influencer marketing outreach
• Hands on support with social media copy and posts
• Contributing to social media and website content
• Researching and presenting emerging artists
• Helping to prepare assets for distribution
• Coordinating press CDs and mailers
• Select video and content creation
• Mechanical licensing
Qualifications:
• Desire for a career in the music and/or music technology industries
• A familiarity with audio companies such as Sony, Shure, Bose, etc.
• Eager to be a part of a small team and take part in a variety of projects
• A self-starter who is not afraid to make suggestions, come up with new
ideas, and ask questions
Education:
• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in a music business or music technology program
• College credit required
Skills:
• Video editing experience is a plus
• Photoshop experience is a plus
• Experience with social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, and
Twitter
• Experience with email marketing tools such as Mailchimp
• Experience with Shopify is a plus
• Have a diverse set of musical tastes
Requirements:
• Interns must be able to commit 10-15 hours a week over two days
• The internship will start between the end of August and first week in
September
