CREATIVE DIRECTOR / ARTIST COORDINATOR
JOB DESCRIPTION
This is the perfect job for someone who has visual/design skills and also wants to work directly with artists. We are looking for someone to spearhead creative initiatives for key artists on our roster as well as coordinate directly with the artists to execute said initiatives. Will be responsible for establishing the aesthetic vision of the TAG Music label, its artists and releases through the creation of multimedia assets. Compensation is competitive. Job is on a consulting basis with the possibility of growing into a full time position. Ideal candidate is a hungry creative a few years out of college, but open to exploring more seasoned candidates who may have existing clients and looking to supplement their income with steady work.
Must bring a network of creative talent to employ including photographers, illustrators, videographers, art directors, writers, editors, etc., and must be able to coordinate directly with said third parties and artists' schedules
Must be able to hire and manage independent creative talent for photo shoots, video shoots and album packaging on project-by-project bases.
Exceptional communication and time management skills. Must be organized and quick to respond on email/text. Must be able to build basic budgets on Excel (or Google Sheets) and issue and track invoices. Must be able to work independently but be a team player.
Must be proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, as well Premier (or similar) and must be able to do basic video editing, graphic design/layout and photography independently.
Must have some experience in marketing, branding and/or music industry with demonstrated track record of creative services leadership.
Ability to lead creative discussions with artists and artist management, as well as label personnel, in the service of synthesizing ideas into written creative briefs.
Provide guidance and creative leadership on the development of all visual assets including video, photography and digital media.
Maximize creative budgets through innovative marketing practices, showing a willingness to think outside the box.
Partner with label and artists to recognize short-term and long-term goals.
Understand the evolving music marketplace and work to reach listeners with unique content on their terms.
Should have experience working directly with artists, artist management and/or high profile clientele (or at least be cool and easy to get along with).
Strong computer skills including and a comprehensive knowledge of emerging marketing platforms.
Be prepared to discuss previous projects and share samples of design/marketing work.
Deep knowledge of all visual media including video, photography, and digital formats.
Must be a music person - an interest and understanding of music history across a variety of genres is essential.
