Admissions Advisor
Start Date: Immediate; Spring 2018

Position Overview:
The American Academy of Dramatic Arts is seeking an outgoing Admissions Advisor to build relationships and engagement with prospective students interested in actor training. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a passion for admissions and the performing arts to cultivate relationships with prospective students - from initial contact through enrollment. This key role will participate in the ongoing goal of increasing enrollment amongst top students and building upon the exceptional reputation of The Academy.
Job Responsibilities:
• Cultivate relationships and engagement with prospective students interested in actor training
• Utilize databases to constantly cultivate a pipeline of high value applicants
• Actively engage students to complete all steps required to enroll
• Log, track and follow up with prospective students
• Respond to phone and web generated inquiries and guide applicants through the admissions process
• Follow up with all inquiries and messages within 24 hours
• Contact students to set interview appointments and auditions
• Conduct interviews on-site or over the phone
• Work collaboratively will all departments to provide a positive experience for students
• Assist in all recruitment efforts including Open Houses and college fairs
• Assist international applicants in following steps to achieve proper documentation to attend school in the U.S.
• Assist in the planning and submission of orders for events held on campus
• Attend weekend and evening events up to 4 times a year
• Other duties as assigned
Skills:
• Strong and effective written and oral communication skills for heavy phone and email volume
• Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and meet specific goals
• Excellent selling and interpersonal skills with the ability to overcome objections
• Highly organized and pays attention to detail
• Comfort in interacting with diverse groups including students, families, staff, and faculty
• Ability to work effectively as a team member but also independently
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required
• A valid passport to secure DSO designation preferred
• 2 years' experience in Admissions, customer service, marketing and/or recruiting
• Previous experience in higher education, the arts, or a non-profit setting highly preferred
• Ability to attend weekend and evening events up to 4 times a year
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs
