Communications, Content, & Event Contractor
Organization: Texas Archive of the Moving Image (TAMI)
Contract: $24-$34/hour | 25-30 hours/week | 27 weeks, with potential for renewal
Schedule: Flexible
Location: Primarily in-office at 3908 Avenue B, Ste. 105, Austin, TX 78751

Position Overview:
TAMI is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and data-driven Communications, Content, and Event Contractor to lead our storytelling and public engagement efforts. This contract role will manage social media, email marketing, press outreach, multimedia content, and website updates-ensuring a consistent voice and visual identity across platforms. All strategies will be rooted in analytics and aligned with our mission to preserve and share Texas media history.

Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience -
Proven experience in digital marketing, content creation, or communications (nonprofit experience a plus)
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills-especially for newsletters, press releases, and public-facing materials
Proficiency with social media scheduling and management tools (e.g., Loomly)
Basic photography, videography, video editing, and graphic design skills and familiarity with related tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp)
Solid understanding of marketing strategy and communications best practices
Website management experience (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace)
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple calendars, priorities, and deadlines
Collaborative, proactive, and adaptable mindset in a small team setting
Openness to constructive feedback and a strong commitment to quality
Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Meta Insights, Google Analytics)
Preferred -
Knowledge of Texas history, media history, or archives
Experience with user-centered design or web usability best practices
Familiarity with Salesforce for communications tracking
Experience working in television, radio, or print media
