This is a Full Time Job
This Production Manager works with Tennis Channel International's Executive Producer and key studio production personnel to manage and support all aspects of planning and execution of a newly launched channel showcasing live tennis matches from around the world. The Production Manager is a direct report to the SVP International and to the Executive Director, Production Operations.
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
• Serves as key resource for all production management responsibilities and operations to include production call sheets, daily schedules, communication, scheduling studio facilities, crew hiring and scheduling, organizing productions services (travel, access, catering, logistics) and integrating workflows with other productions sometimes happening simultaneously.
• Primary liaison between a wide variety of entities (e.g., Facility Management, Broadcast Operations, Finance, Production Crews, Talent, Vendors, Tournament Directors and other TV network representatives).
• Works with production teams to organize and execute a production management plan to ensure assigned productions meet network creative and technical objectives.
• Coordinates/generates the schedule of booking full production crews for studio show.
• Hires new crew members. This includes staffing for all 3 categories:
• Above the line (freelance producers and directors, etc.)
• Below the line (freelance crew members that come through other companies)
• ENG crew members
• Oversees the acquisition and distribution of various production elements, such as event footage, music and music cue sheets, graphic elements, equipment, etc.
• Supervises facilities and staff working studio shows.
• Trains new hires on production departmental processes and procedures.
• Maintains and communicates weekly crew assessments and reviews
• Manages and maintains planning documents: trackers and planning spreadsheets.
• Works closely with the Manager, Production Accountant on managing cost, coordination of crew, and show requirements to ensure timely processing of crew time cards and contracts/deal memos.
• Upholds a professional appearance and demeanor that reflects the role's status as an ambassador and network representative for the Tennis Channel at an international level
• Develops and ensures quality control of all production books and daily schedules.
Qualifications / Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years in Production Management role, or a similar position within the sports or entertainment production Industry
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week on a flexible schedule that includes day, night and weekend shifts (Tennis season is Jan-Nov; heaviest workloads occur in the summer months May-Sept)
• Ability to adapt and thrive in constantly changing environments, filled with unpredictable challenges and interaction with all personality types
• Enthusiasm for managing hands-on projects and the resourcefulness to 'get your hands dirty' and make things happen
• Proven and strong ability to multi-task, adapt to fast-pace environment and manage several productions start-to-finish
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; organized, proactive, and quick-thinking.
• Must be solution based, detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with weekly and monthly deadlines
• Experience with non-union production and guidelines in various formats
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
