Senior Video Producer, Long-Form & YouTube
Tennis Channel
Santa Monica, CAThis is a Freelance Job
Tennis Channel is looking for a freelance Senior Video Producer to help lead our long-form and YouTube content. You'll partner directly with the Head of Social and our two other video leads to shape and execute video strategy toward our team's growth goals, with a particular focus on long-form programming and the YouTube channel. This is a producer role, not a pure editor role: you'll concept and create content, direct shoots, and jump into edits yourself when needed - while also directing post producers/editors to bring bigger projects to finish.
This freelance role is expected to be approximately 30-40 hours per week, with schedules aligned to tournament coverage needs. Flexibility to work weekends may be required during key tournaments and high-volume event periods. This freelance engagement is anticipated to run through December 2026, with the potential to be extended through the end of 2027 based on business needs and performance.
This is a freelance role and onsite located in Santa Monica, CA.
In this role, you will...
• Partner with the Head of Social and the social video leads to shape and execute video strategy toward the team's shared goals, with a particular focus on long-form content and YouTube channel strategy.
• Concept and pitch long-form and serialized video ideas and formats for YouTube, and help build out the plans to ship them.
• Produce content start to finish - concept, shoot/direct shoots, and edit hands-on when needed.
• Direct and collaborate with post producers/editors on longer or higher-lift projects - set creative direction, give cut feedback, and see projects through to finish.
• Build and manage timelines - post-production schedules and on-site content/shoot plans - to keep projects and deliverables on track.
• Cover live tournament action, reactive/trend-driven content, and other short-form needs as they come up alongside long-form priorities.
• Bring recommendations on YouTube performance and long-form content opportunities to the Head of Social and video leads.
• Maintain Tennis Channel's brand voice and visual quality bar across every deliverable.
Key Qualifications:
• 5 years in video production, including experience concepting and producing long-form or serialized content.
• A track record contributing to YouTube channel strategy and growth, not just producing video for it.
• Experience directing and collaborating with post producers/editors - comfortable giving creative direction and cut feedback, not only cutting everything yourself.
• Project management experience - able to build and own timelines, post-production schedules, and on-site content plans, and keep multiple projects moving at once.
• Strong hands-on shooting and editing skills (Adobe Premiere Pro) to jump into edits when needed.
• Comfortable working on-site at live tennis events, capturing courtside and behind-the-scenes footage.
• Sports or live-event production experience a plus.
Salary/Benefits
$50.00 - $60.00 /hour USD
Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidates' relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
