Job Description for Research Analyst - New York
Tennis Channel is the only 24-hour, television-based multimedia destination dedicated to both the professional sport and tennis lifestyle. Tennis Channel holds the telecast rights to, Wimbledon, Roland Garros (French Open), Australian Open, ATP Masters Series, and the Davis Cup and Fed Cup. Tennis Channel is carried by nine of the top 10 MSOs, Verizon FiOS TV, and has a national footprint via DIRECTV and DISH Network.
Research Analyst Position
Position: This position supports Tennis Channel in all aspects of television and internet video audience research by assisting the Research Department in building analyses, reports and PowerPoint sales presentations. This is a very high visibility position that primarily services Advertising Sales, but interacts with virtually every other department at the Channel including Programming, Affiliate Relations, Tennis Industry Relations, Marketing and Corporate.
This position is ideal for someone beginning a career in the business side of television and internet content programming, sales, and distribution.
Daily Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Retrieve, interpret and utilize viewing data and consumer behavior for use in sales presentations and reports
• Assist in building analyses, reports and PowerPoint sales presentations
• Aid in analysis and storytelling through the use of qualitative and quantitative data gathered using Nielsen, Ipsos, Rentrak/Comscore, MRI and other data sources
• Undertake projects focused on audience trends
• Daily Maintenance of the Nielsen Program Names System
Qualifications:
• 1-2 years' experience at analyst level
• BA degree required
• Math proficiency required
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Excellent writing skills
• Strong analytical ability
• Accuracy and fact-checking ability
• Ability to juggle multiple projects with varying deadlines
• Good listening skills and ability to learn quickly
• High level of attention to detail
• Sound organizational skills
• Experience in television audience research and/or a background in statistics preferred
• Sports knowledge a plus
