Tennis Channel offers a unique working environment in the heart of ecofriendly Santa Monica. Tennis Channel is the linear and OTT platform for all professional tour level tennis in the United States. Every Slam, major, ATP and WTA match is broadcast on Tennis Channel. Tennis Channel owns all its own media brands and production soundstages.
Our Research Analyst leverages ratings, analytics, social and viewership research data to create impactful analyses, tour, tournament, as well as sales and Upfront presentations. They possess a strong attention to detail and can showcase key metrics in a creative way. Tennis Channel utilizes a hub strategy, which means it is imperative our Researchers successfully interact and collaborate with all channel departments.
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
• Works with all aspects of audience and viewership research reporting on the KPI's for the linear Tennis Channel, Tennis.com, TennisChannel.com, Tennis Channel Plus OTT, the TC app and Tennis Magazine
• Provides Research to all departments including: Programming, Production, Digital, Social, Tennis Industry Relations, Affiliate Relations, Ad Sales, Marketing and Corporate, allowing for significant exposure within Tennis Channel to help the company focus strategically
• Utilizes syndicated and custom research databases to effectively position the value proposition of Tennis Channel linear & digital properties for advertisers
• Responds to ad hoc and short turn around requests for data and metrics from across the organization and proactively disseminate insights
• Utilizes syndicated research tools to develop viewer profiles so key stakeholders have a deeper understanding of the TC viewer
• Gives day to day support to the West Coast Research Department team by providing daily/weekly/tournament specific ratings reports, competitive sports network reporting, as well as digital and social media dashboards
Specific skills:
• Required proficiency in Nielsen related software including: NPower, Scarborough, Ad Intel and Star Trak, and prior exposure to Gfk MRI, Ipsos Affluent Study or other similar data providers
• Knowledge of sports, including the ability to formulate content ideas around past events and in anticipation of upcoming events on the tournament calendars
• Experience with digital analytics (Google Analytics, YouTubeTV Analytics, Adobe Analytics etc.) required
• Ability to convey research findings in ''non-research'' language to internal partners
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in media research, especially in sports media, cable and/or broadcast network research and/or digital measurement
• Bachelor's Degree in Television, Communications, Statistics, or related experience required
• Strong math and statistical skills necessary
• Possesses strong time management, organizational and project management skills
• Must have strong work ethic, positive attitude and self-starter qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities
• Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy
