This is a Full Time Job
Telemundo Sacramento is looking for a Photographer/Editor. You will be responsible for shooting and editing stories, including spot news and features.
The ideal candidate will directly work with and report to Assignment Desk and works closely with Executive Producer and News Director.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Through the creative use of the camera, and proficient lighting and editing skills, will provide the viewer with a story on a given topic.
• Will operate camera, live truck or cellular bonded technology and edit on Edius Pro edit systems.
• Respond quickly to breaking news while taking direction and interacting with the assignment desk, reporters/anchors, production, control room, and appropriate personnel.
• Shoot and edit high-quality video, interviews, and story packages
• Set up and operate microphones and monitor audio levels
• Set up and operate lighting equipment
• Perform work under pressure with multiple, daily deadlines
• Collaborate with field producer and correspondent on assignments
• Gather video and interviews independently as needed
• Troubleshoot technical issues in the field
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism and/or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a news photographer
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) both written and verbal
• Be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment at a given time â€'' including camera, lighting kit, cable reel, and portable TVU, LiveU, Dejero units
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
• Must be willing to work in Sacramento, CA
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older, must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
• Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
• Must be hands on
• Must be fluent in Spanish (speak, read & write)
• Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
Desired Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism and/ or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 5 years' experience in news videography
• Creative storyteller capable of producing engaging and entertaining content
• Thorough understanding of technology as it relates to non-linear editing and HD photography
• Proficient in HD lighting, HD videography, non-linear editing with Avid & Final Cut, Dalet editing, microwave truck operations
• Familiarity with new technologies such as Live U transmission, Dejero, Go Pro cameras and Latakoo file sharing camera equipment
• Knowledge of Grass Valley Group Vibrint and Edius or other computer based editing
• Knowledge in Edius Pro for Editing
• Strong understanding of computer/IT workflows
• Understand File Transfer Protocols
• Familiarity with social media
• Ability to provide written and visual content to the website
• Team player and adaptive to flexible work environment
• Positive work ethic and ability to work under tight deadlines
• High degree of integrity and professionalism
This position is a non-exempt full time position eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
