Role Summary
Dynamic and exciting opportunity to provide overall human resources support for Telemundo Entertainment. The HR Director will manage employee relations issues, performance management, staffing and HR process coordination while providing guidance and counsel to business leadership and production executives as well as to general employee population.
Responsibilities
• Serve as HR contact and support for Telemundo Entertainment Clients including, but not limited to production, talent and business operations teams
• Partner closely with business and local HR team to provide leadership, direction and expertise for the full scope of HR functions.
• Play a key role in the development and execution of business strategies that ensure maximum engagement of human resource capital
• Coach, develop and challenge the business on the execution of growth plans and people leadership
• Partner with Talent Acquisitions and Talent Development on identification, selection and retention of world-class talent
• Manage all on-boarding, retention, development and engagement activities
• Work closely with Finance, Employment Law, Employment Contracts and HR Operations to either initiate or resolve HR issues in a cohesive manner
• Serve as an employee advocate, balancing fair employment standards, NBCU policy and practice and business needs
• Support US local leadership team on executing all people strategies across US and LATAM
• Oversee HR functions for scripted, unscripted and realities productions, daily shows, and other third-party production projects executed in US and LATAM
• Provide HR counsel to managers on employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent enforcement of policies and practices
• Act as liaison between clients and core staff functions by assisting with rolling out new company initiatives and communicating information relating to career development, recognition programs, payroll, benefits, training and staffing
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
• 7 years of professional HR experience
• Prior experience in production and/or media environments, preferred
• Deep understanding of labor laws, union collective bargaining agreements
• Prior experience working for regional and global businesses
• Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred
Desired Characteristics
• Solid business acumen, facilitation, conflict resolution and communication skills
• Knowledge and practical application of HR disciplines including employment and labor laws, employee relations, management & leadership development, performance management, organizational design
• Exceptional business partnership: able to establish credibility and rapport with operating leaders
• Project and process management skills, demonstrated track record of delivering results
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong client-support orientation, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and with a wide range of clients, individually and in groups
• Excellent employee-relations skill set; can earn trust and credibility with employees
• Previous experience with a represented workforce is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to influence, coach and counsel both employees and management
• Basic knowledge of Labor Relations
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and lead change
• Takes ownership; able to establish self as the ‘˜go-to’ HR resource for client organizations
• Prior media/television industry experience preferred
Eligibility Requirements:
• Wiling to travel as needed
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Additional Requirements:
• Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the Miami, FL office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
