NBC & Telemundo Connecticut Internships provide students with real-world experience and exposure to working in the television news industry. NBC & Telemundo Connecticut internships are paid and do not require course credit.
If you are a team player who is looking to learn how to work with community leaders and how to organize/participate in different community events, this is the internship for you.
Responsibilities:
• Helps plan, coordinate, and execute community events such as town hall meetings, festivals, parade participation, and talent visits with area schools
• Assists with writing community calendar, social media posts and business correspondences
• Helps coordinate station appearances with local non-profits and conduct station tours.
• Assists the Marketing Staff with development and execution of owned, earned and paid media
• Assists the creative and on-air promotion department by cataloging videos and clips
• Provide support to lifestyle program CT Live! and Acceso Total by attending shoots with commercial producers and hosts, sharing content ideas, and scheduling interviews with the show producers
Helps manage the premium closet and keep track of inventory
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Experience with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook preferred
• Proficient in using social media platforms such as, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the length of the program and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal
• IN-PERSON/HYBRID Must be willing to work at the station in West Hartford, CT
Desired Characteristics:
• Detailed oriented by nature
• Comfortable working on multiple projects at the same time
• Ability to find creative solutions to projects
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred
• Responsible, punctual, creative, and professional
• Able to interface maturely with all levels of company management, and able to participate in execution of strategic division and departmental initiatives
• Excellent organizational skills. Able to maintain departmental operational standards
• Top-notch written, verbal, and proofreading skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
• Ability to work evenings and weekends when needed
