This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
• POSITION SUMMARY: The Ted Williams Foundation is looking for a high-energy, motivated intern to join our team for the 2024 Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies, and Detroit Tigers spring training season. The intern will start work for this position on February 12th, a week before the first game, through March 26th. (Dates can be adjusted to fit an internship curriculum for college, dates listed just reflect the spring training season length) The intern must be available for every Baltimore Orioles spring training games, and will be expected to assist with Philadelphia Phillies and Detroit Tigers spring training games as needed.
• JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS:
• The intern must arrive 30-45 minutes before gates open and work through the end of the game. This will include week days, week nights, weekends, and holidays (St. Patrick's Day).
• The intern's primary focus will be the full execution of the Baltimore Orioles game day 5050 raffle program.
– This will include training on the 5050 raffle server, and back end, for event creation, management as well and pulling the winning number and handling winning paperwork.
– Scheduling and completing payroll for hired staff members
– End of event cash handling and deposits to local Bank of America location
– The intern will also be expected to sell raffle tickets during the game, and lead their sales team through the stadium during the course of the game selling tickets.
• The secondary focus of the intern will be to assist with the 5050 raffles at the Clearwater Phillies and the Lakeland Tigers Stadiums.
• QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent education
• Prior experience handling cash
• Ability to interact positively with large fan base
• Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills
• Above average verbal communication skills
• Strong sales skills
• Must be highly self-motivated and outgoing
• Candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays if necessary
• In a variety of weather conditions, must be able to walk up and down numerous steps, and long distances in parking lot and stadium grounds.
• COMPENSATION:
• The intern will be paid a stipend bi-weekly based on the games they work.
• The intern may also be eligible for a bonus based on the performance of the 5050 raffle over the course of the spring training season
