This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
The Tampa Bay Rays are seeking a motivated, organized, and team-oriented individual to assist in the planning and day-to-day operations of non-baseball events and baseball games at Tropicana Field. This individual will gain valuable experience planning and executing events for a Major League Baseball facility. This internship will run through Friday, October 2nd.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Support the Stadium and Parking Operations staff in planning, preparation and operation of events at Tropicana Field.
• Work closely with all areas of the Rays organization to facilitate Major League Baseball games and special events at Tropicana Field.
• Provide assistance with event day activities including crowd management, pregame setup, in game logistics, and post event breakdown.
• Work closely with representatives from Security, Building Operations, Fan Experience and Parking to ensure safety and security for fans and employees at Tropicana Field.
• Baseball and non-baseball event responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with the Command dispatch system (Raven), preparing gameday documents, and supporting setup and breakdown for games and special events.
• Perform general clerical and administrative duties, including data entry and inventory management, while assisting with event walkthroughs and preparations for upcoming games and special events.
• Assist Supervisor with miscellaneous last-minute requests on game days and non-game days.
• Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills
• Radio experience with basic knowledge on etiquette
• Previous Experience in Event Management and/or Operations
• Work 40 hours per week, including but not limited to all Rays home games, additional events, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing needs while maintaining professionalism
• Canva, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments
• Bachelor's Degree Business, Sport Management or Event Management preferred
