Title: Minor League Video Coordinator
Description: The Tampa Bay Rays are seeking a Minor League Video Coordinator to manage all video operations for our Player Development, Performance Science, Scouting, and Research & Development departments. The individual in this role will stay on top of evolving video technology to ensure that decision makers have access to the best possible video data. The Video Coordinator will manage a large video database and process data collected by our scouting and player development staff, as well as other emerging sources of data. This individual serves as a leader, overseeing and providing mentoring to our minor league affiliate intern program, with the aim of creating a rich learning environment while gathering top quality data.
Department: Baseball Performance Science
Reporting Relationships: the Minor League Video Coordinator will report to the Assistant Director of Player Development and the Director of Baseball Performance Science
Responsibilities:
• Oversee all video gathering processes across the minor league season, spring training, and instructional league
• Collect, prepare, and organize video to support the Amateur Draft process
• Edit and upload video provided by our Professional, International, and Amateur Scouts, Performance Science staff, and other sources
• Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge, staying current on video technology trends
• Provide recommendations for new technology, applications, or equipment upgrades
• Liaise between the corporate IT department and Player Development staff
• Oversee the Minor League Affiliate Intern program, including hiring, training, and creating a rich learning environment throughout the season
• Execute any Baseball Operations video-related requests
Qualifications:
• Effective time and energy management
• Ability to triage and prioritize competing tasks
• Skillful communication with a wide variety of audiences
• Flexible schedule and ability to work some evenings and weekends throughout the season
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs
• Desire to mentor, lead, and develop a team of interns
• Experience in Minor League baseball, preferred but not required
• Fluency in other languages, specifically Spanish, helpful but not required
Location: St. Petersburg, FL with occasional travel to minor league affiliates
