The Tampa Bay Rays are looking for a positive, detail-oriented and committed individual to participate in a season-long internship opportunity. The Ticket Service and Technology intern will assist in providing an outstanding experience for all Rays Fans attending Rays home games. This internship provides a learning experience for those looking to work in a fast-paced ticket operations environment utilizing the most current technologies in the industry.
Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to:
• Provide customer service support for all fans over the phone, email, in-person, and during all home games or special events, including assisting fans trying to purchase tickets at Tropicana Field.
• Aid with new buyer account creation and management for all products utilizing ticket technology.
• Track and communicate changes with the MLB Ballpark App for all fans.
• Communicate with third-party partners regarding loyalty programs, concessions, and ticket technology.
• Maintain and track inventory of rewards items for loyalty programs on a weekly basis.
• Aid in creation, testing, and fulfillment of new ticket products at concessions stand.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for innovative strategies to increase engagement with loyalty programs.
• Track communication and feedback from all fans regarding loyalty program and ticket technology issues.
• Primary contact for ticket services communication via email, phone, or in-person.
• Assist in recruitment, training, and supervision of various game day staff.
• Game day responsibilities include – assist Box Office staff & Ticket Tech staff with answering fan questions regarding ticket technology related issues, monitor flow of ticket scanning at the gates, troubleshoot hardware issues at gates for turnstiles and hand scanners, stock and manage inventory of Rays Rewards items in the Redemption Center daily, stock suites and prepare for premium events as needed.
• Assist with various special projects as needed.
• Print group tickets, make sure iPads and A-frame signs are ready to go at the Box Office before each game, stock refrigerator at Gate 1 and Gate 4 with water for staff.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to develop effective and collaborative working relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (via phone, email, etc.)
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines, with strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to work all home games, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
All candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Qualified candidates must be available for the entire duration of the internship.
• All candidates must have local housing or plan to relocate prior to the internship.
