Part Time Unpaid Internship
The Ticket Sales and Service department of the Tampa Bay Rays is seeking energetic, outgoing, and enthusiastic individuals who have a desire to work with our sales and service team to support and drive awareness of our various ticketing initiatives. The Ticket Sales & Service internship provides a learning experience for those looking to develop their knowledge and skills surrounding sports business operations. Candidates must meet the following criteria:
Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to:
• Provide excellent customer service support for all fans over the phone, email, in person, and during all home games or special events.
• Work all game days/nights and any other assigned events as well as normal office hours.
• Assist customer service efforts (distributing tickets, etc.) and other office tasks.
• Help with planning and organizing of various sales initiatives and programs.
• Coordinate the setup and breakdown of group events.
• Prepare suites for game days and work premium events as needed.
• Assist customers trying to purchase tickets at Tropicana Field
• Assist with various special projects as well as aide in data entry and reporting.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or currently pursuing a bachelor's degree.
• Customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays during home games.
• Desire to be a sales industry leader.
• Ability to develop effective and collaborative working relationships.
• Proficient in basic computer software programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (via phone, email, etc.)
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines, with strong attention to detail
The following are brief internship guidelines:
• Candidates must be available for the entire duration of the internship (February – October).
• Must be available for normal office hours (8:30 am – 5:30 pm), and game days and events as assigned
