This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
The Tampa Bay Rays are seeking a creative, and team-oriented individual to join the Promotions and Events department as a Marketing and Promotions Intern. The intern will assist with planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of promotional initiatives, community events, and fan engagement activities.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in managing the Rays promotional event teams; i.e., Rays and Rowdies Street Team and Mascots.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Rays Rookies Kids Club.
• Serve as an on-site lead at community and Rays sponsored events to assist, oversee, and evaluate part-time staff performance.
• Assist in the execution of events such as watch parties, parade entries, Rays Fan Fest, and Running with the Rays 5k.
• Support in the development and coordination of theme ticket packages and giveaways.
• Oversee the distribution of Bar League items.
• Maintain weekly inventory of promotional supplies, signage, and event equipment.
• Perform regular maintenance and upkeep of promotional vehicles (gas, wash, and service as needed).
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Strong communication skills and a positive, professional, customer-focused attitude
• Knowledge of baseball preferred
• Experience in sports, live events, marketing, promotions, or event planning preferred
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and all home games and special events
• Availability from January–September, including regular office hours
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
