Full Time Job
The Tampa Bay Rays are seeking a Director, Corporate Partnerships that will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and renewing current business for the Tampa Bay Rays. The successful candidate will provide sales leadership and will guide the department's staff to grow sales revenue. The Director will work closely with also work closely with members of other departments including but not limited to: marketing, broadcasting, ticketing, operations, facilities, finance, community engagement and human resources. This position will require a dynamic individual who can interface with senior executives, be detailed-oriented and be able to think critically and creatively in applying marketing assets to prospects and clients.
Job Requirements, Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions
• Oversee sales staff
• Generate new business, developing new revenue streams and inventory
• Understand the nuances and complexity of sponsorship sales
• Set, meet and exceed sales goals
• Create, manage and pursue personal and team sales funnels
• Oversee daily and weekly team CRM activity
• Negotiate partnership deliverables and contract terms
• Networking and relationship building
• Have a clear understanding of prospective partners needs and how to apply partnership deliverables to achieve those goals
• Perform weekly meetings with sales staff
• Oversee negotiation of sponsorship agreements, including oversight of fulfillment of sponsorships
• Consistently work to foster positive employee relations
• Team player with excellent listening skills
• Solution based approach to prospective clients
• Assist in executing partnership agreements in conjunction with services team
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Candidate must have a minimum five (5) years experience in sports, media or corporate sales with proven track record of success
• Strong communication skills; both oral and written
• Detailed oriented and solid time management skills
• Exceptional customer service skills required
• Must have excellent organizational and communication skills, with superior business ethics.
• Proven track record of closing business and building relationships
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and long hours
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize goals
