Full Time Job
The Finance department is looking for a Coordinator of Payroll and Accounting. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Manage time clock enrollments and time card punches; train new hires and supervises on all aspects of the time keeping system.
• Process bi-weekly payroll for all hourly staff.
• Cross train and backup Payroll Supervisor in processing semi-monthly payroll.
• Assist with onboarding and ensure new hires, qualifying events, open enrollment changes, terminations, pay rate changes and other records are integrated correctly from HR module of ADP to the payroll module.
• Assist with tax filings; track cases to resolution; assist employees with state and other tax forms as needed.
• Assist with the administration of the MLB Pension Plan, 401k plan, and player retirement plan, including audits, 5500 filings, and reconciliations of sub systems to the GL/Payroll system.
• Record employer 401k match to the GL monthly and annually reconcile to financial disclosure footnote.
• Manage the annual Workers Comp audit and annual Minor League insurance audit.
• Ensure timely distribution of required notices for 401(k) and pension plans.
• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of various reports, including New Hires, Terminations, Headcount, FTE, DOL filings, census and other requested reports.
• Employment verification.
• Filing of confidential payroll documents.
• Balance sheet reconciliations for payroll related accounts, including researching and resolving variances and implementing processes to prevent re-occurrence.
• Record Alcove revenue during the season in the accounting system.
• Record Ticket revenue in the accounting system.
• Record Deposits in the accounting system.
• Accounting for the Rowdies inventory/merchandise, fixed assets, concessions, etc.
• Bank reconciliations.
• Assist Accounts Payable Dept. in recording all credit card transactions.
• Other accounting reconciliations and analysis as requested or required.
Other Responsibilities:
• Manage phone calls, emails, etc. and research problems to resolution in a timely manner
• Special projects, reports, and other related duties and tasks as required from time to time
• Various ad hoc reporting to increase efficiency and productivity.
• Responsible for maintenance & retention of confidential records.
• Training as needed to ensure adherence to all policies and procedures; assist with maintaining/updating documentation on processes and procedures.
Qualification & Skills:
• Associates Degree or above in Accounting or Business required (recent college grads urged to apply).
• 1 year working knowledge of general accounting and/or payroll experience preferred.
• Beginning to Intermediate Excel and Word skills desirable with ability to adapt to improving technologies.
• Ability to work independently, proactively prioritize, multi-task and be detail oriented in a fast paced deadline driven environment.
• Service minded with strong communication and organizational skills with ability to work with all levels of employees within the company
