*Digital Marketing Coordinator - Tampa Bay Rays (St. Petersburg, FL)
Description
The Digital Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of Rays digital marketing activities from concept to execution and analysis. This includes communications to Rays fans and ticket buyers done through email, website and social media. This role will report to the Manager, Digital Marketing.
Role and Responsibilities
Email
• In collaboration with marketing team, develop, manage and implement the team's digital marketing and e-mail strategies, with an emphasis on developing more targeted and relevant interactions with fans based on consumer segmentation and analysis of the Rays customer database.
• Work closely with the analytics team to manage subscriber database, working with multiple databases, and using filters for segmenting data for targeted e-mail campaigns.
• Responsible for researching and developing new content for emails and being a digital marketing expert, keeping up with the latest trends, tools and tactics.
Website
• Manage and enhance content on the team's website and other digital platforms and act as the liaison for the organization with Major League Baseball.
• Work with Spanish MLB to maintain the Rays Spanish website with up to date content.
• Work with multiple departments to track and review website, email, and paid analytics including open and
click-through rates to suggest best practices to optimize goals, including fan engagement, follower growth, and ROI.
Social Media
• Assist in coordination of social media strategy and best practices for the organization.
• Pull weekly social media reports showing performance in all areas and make recommendations on ways to increase engagement.
• Respond to comments/questions/messages in a timely manner on social media platforms
• Manage auxiliary team Instagram accounts
• Assist Digital Marketing Manager in any and all social media projects.
• The digital marketing coordinator will be responsible for solely covering a percentage of away games, posting on all accounts during that time in addition to serving in a supportive role for all home games.
Qualifications
and Educational Requirements
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
• 1-2 years in digital marketing or social media, preferably with experience in managing team social media accounts
• Strong writing and editing experience
• Strong understanding of baseball
• Working knowledge of MS Dynamics CRM, Scarborough, and related programs
• Flexibility to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Familiarity with digital trends and technology, sports and popular culture
• Ability to evaluate data, determine trends, find opportunities and make recommendations
• A highly organized self-starter with a can-do attitude
