Full Time Job
The Tampa Bay Rays Coordinator, Broadcasting will work closely with department staff to develop and enhance radio broadcasts, assist with day-to-day operations and work within the Rays Communications Department assisting on projects and events.
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
Primary
• Rays radio and TV traffic management
• Audio engineer for spring training, regular season, and community events as scheduled (training provided)
• Assist internal departments (Engineering, IT, Productions) in broadcast facilities
• Watch party pre-planning and site checks
• Coordinate requests for on-air radio interviews
• Write, edit, and produce partner and promotional spots
• Support Broadcasters, Producers, and Engineers
Offseason
• Explore growth opportunities for Rays Radio Network
• Archive audio and video
• Analyze TV, Radio, and digital broadcast metrics
• Become proficient in Skyview AdView inventory management system
• Maintain inventory of Rays broadcasting equipment
• Supervise department intern(s)
Long-term
• Research and explore emerging technology and trends in industry (MLB, Broadcast, Radio, Etc.)
• Record, edit, and product digital content including Rays podcasts
• Become proficient in Skyview AdView inventory management system
• Planning on all Rays Watch Parties with Corporate Partners and Marketing
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Bachelor's or postsecondary degree in related field of study
• Be able to work 40 hour per week, depending on broadcast schedules and duties required by position
• Experience with:
o Radio remote and studio broadcast equipment
o Audio editing software (Audition, Audacity, Cool Edit)
o Uploading/distributing audio (Apple Podcasts, Megaphone, Soundcloud, etc.)
o Single and multi-camera video productions
o Video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, etc.)
• Interest in broadcast production
• Knowledge of Major League Baseball and the broadcasting industry
• Bi-Lingual (Spanish), preferably.
