Job Description: Talent Resources Sports is looking for a Director, Events & Operations to join our team. The right candidate will be an ambitious and energetic individual that will oversee the management and day-to-day operations of our events and vendor partners. They must have the ability to manage multiple programs at one time and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment. The candidate must have existing experience with managing event budgets and P&L's. Reporting to the Head of Strategic Partnership and Sales, the ideal candidate will represent TRS with the upmost integrity while serving as a liaison to the local community while in a market.
Responsibilities:
Overall:
Promote the company's products and services to ensure alignment with appropriate partners.
Create value by connecting relationships within the sports and entertainment ecosystem while creating new relationships.
Manage the day-to-day operations of TRS events
Event specific:
Ensure budget requirements are met for live event platforms (Super Bowl, NBA All Star, ESPY's).
Manage and reconcile multi-million-dollar event P&L's.
Liaise between event production managers and TRS senior leadership, clients and partners.
Draft and manage event contracts with execution and vendor partners.
Conduct research to identify new markets, opportunities, and growth for the company
Manage staff travel including housing, transportation for marquee events.
Ensure event deliverables are met for brand partners.
Work with artists to create event renderings and client activation ideas.
Maintain relationships within network of partners to develop synergies and extract value
Sales specific:
Suggest innovative ideas to increase sales and improve partnership and hospitality experiences.
Identify new potential brand partnerships for both digital and event driven opportunities.
Requirements:
Proven work experience as an account executive or business development position (6-8 years of proven success in event management/operations in sports and entertainment)
Proven experience in managing large, high-exposure events.
Strong strategic thinker: ability to develop and articulate effective strategies to achieve business objectives and balance day-to-day tactical issues.
Strong financial acumen and proven negotiation skills.
Ability to translate business and marketing strategy into effective event execution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, deliver clear presentations at the most senior levels.
Relationship driven; builds credible and trusting relationships with a broad range of colleagues, stakeholders, and business partners.
High energy person who can successfully manage multiple, high-visibility, complex technical projects, and priorities.
Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Communications or relevant field
Salary: TBD + Commissions, Bonus and health insurance after 90 days
