This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
Considerations: Intern works part-time (20 hours per workweek) and must be able to commit to a schedule within Sundance Institute's regular work hours (Monday–Friday). This is a fully remote position. The dates are Monday, November 14, 2022 through Friday, February 3, 2023.
Learning Opportunities: Learn about Sundance artist support programs, Equity, Impact, and Belonging (EIB) initiatives, and artist and community outreach, including how to conduct a successful outreach program, how to ensure diverse populations are reached, how to evaluate research, and hone creative development skills. Intern will focus on activities for the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and have the opportunity to communicate directly with stakeholders inside the Institute and in the industry.
Essential Job Functions and Duties:
• Supports community ticketing benefit initiative and programming by providing admin support, preparing written and visual materials, and attending meetings. Will also provide virtual support of community events and Press Inclusion Initiative in service of underrepresented critics at SFF23.
• Conducts research and collects data on artist submissions, trade articles, best organizations, executives, and special projects as assigned, particularly in preparing for the Sundance Film Festival on Outreach & Inclusion related programs.
• Provides departmental support on event planning for the January Film Festival.
• Assists with departmental tasks, including correspondence, making contributions to EIB marketing projects, taking meeting notes and minutes, creating documents, data entry, preparing program materials, maintaining department calendars and databases, etc.
• Assists with the execution of department events, including various fellowship and orientation-related logistics, supporting regional programs outreach, and Sundance Film Festival event logistics, including maintaining and editing event invitation lists and tracking rsvp's.
• Assists with creating program materials, including collecting, updating, and tracking information including schedules, bios, and photos.
• Actively participates in institute meetings and brainstorms regarding Equity, Impact, and Belonging Initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Extensive knowledge of Google and Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge and interest in the film industry and challenges facing traditionally marginalized artist communities (defined as BIPOC, LGBTQ , and/or the disability community)
Preferred Education
, Experience and Skills:
• Degree or working towards a degree in film.
• Experience working with databases.
• Research and data collection experience.
• Experience and interest in working directly with diverse communities.
