Considerations: Extended hours, weekend work, and some holidays will be required leading up to and during the Film Festival. Position may be housed in Park City during the Festival. High level of mobility and strength is required as well as an ability to drive safely in winter road conditions.
Position Summary: Manages production services for the Sundance Film Festival and Institute fall Labs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Reviews, suggests revisions, and implements procedures to receive and execute production service related requests.
• Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates approximately 12 production assistants.
• Manages master production assistant schedule based on department master timeline, service requests and deadlines.
• Provides production support and logistical needs for fall and winter Labs at Sundance Resort as requested.
• Schedules and conducts meetings with internal departments to plan for procurement, load-in/out, etc. of Festival venues, theatres, offices, etc.
• Maintains consistent communication with stakeholders regarding production related deadlines, changes, plans, etc.
• Oversees functionality and safety of the Space Place and Temple storage units, ensuring they are clean, organized, and safe.
• Provides on site direction to team and oversees the load-in/out of all theatres, venues, offices, etc.
• Performs continual check-ins with venues throughout the Festival to ensure production needs are being met.
• Responds immediately to any production related safety issues or problems as they arise and ensures proper and timely resolution.
• Manages pre and post inventory for Institute owned items and rental equipment.
• Manages reconciliation of receipts, applying proper budget codes, and communicating outstanding invoice issues to Assistant Director.
• Meets with Festival departments post Festival to review equipment order report and gather wrap information.
• Completes a comprehensive written wrap report.
• Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Employee has legal authorization to work in the United States.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• 3 years experience in managing large scale event production.
• Experience managing staff.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Valid driver's license and successful completion of DMV background check.
• Detail oriented and able to take initiative and work independently.
• Ability to lead by example and act with integrity.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to maintain multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of Excel, FileMaker Pro, Gmail, Google Drive and Calendar.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
• A professional attitude and demeanor (tact, sensitivity, and diplomacy).
• Ability to think and act quickly under pressure.
• Able to move and lift items that weigh 50-75 lbs chest high.
• Basic carpentry and painting skills.
