Full Time Job
Employment Dates: 10/24/2018-2/15/2019
Considerations: This position works full time out of our Park City, UT office. May be lodged in Park City during the Sundance Film Festival. Required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet deadlines. Must be willing and available to respond to on-call needs as assigned. A high level of mobility is required as well as an ability to drive safely in winter road conditions.
Position Summary: Coordinates the planning and execution of the community outreach screenings and tickets during the Sundance Film Festival.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Views films to ensure content and subject matter is appropriate for student and community audiences and assists with program film selection.
• Identifies films that have topical resonances to Utah audiences and collaborates with Festival Programming Team to slot films for community outreach screenings.
• Develops post screening program, e.g. panels, Q&As, receptions, etc. including identifying key local stakeholders to moderate and participate on panels based on content of film.
• Researches and identifies local issue-based organizations, community groups, and stakeholders to participate in community programs.
• Maintains Utah Community organization contacts database with accurate and up-to-date information.
• Acts as a representative for the program to internal and external partners and responds to inquiries.
• Coordinates community outreach ticket requests with ticketing department.
• Provides onsite execution and support to program screenings while working with theatre operations to ensure screenings are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
• Drafts program correspondence and materials, including program schedules, cover letters, film descriptions, and program evaluations.
• Works with the volunteer department to request and direct program volunteers.
• Coordinates with artist relations department to ensure filmmakers or a film representative is scheduled to be present and participate in each screening.
• Collects program statistics and materials for grant reporting.
• Completes a comprehensive wrap-report as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Valid driver's license and successful completion of DMV background check.
• 2 years experience in community outreach development, cultivation, or related.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Utah community and nonprofit organizations.
• Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal and professional skills required to work effectively with a variety of people.
• Excellent organizational skills including self management of work schedule.
• Must be able to maintain confidential information.
• Ability to work nights and weekends around events and key deadlines.
Preferred Education
, Experience and Skills:
• Working knowledge of databases along with proficiency in Google Products.
