Festival Associate Manager Youth Programming - Careers At Sundance Institute
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Festival Associate Manager, Youth Programming is responsible for programming and executing the online and in-person Sundance Film Festival Feature Film Student Screenings (under 18 yrs old), and Short Film Program- Filmmakers in the Classroom Program.
This temporary position works full time from Wednesday, October 23, 2024 through Friday, February 28, 2025 and will be required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet key deadlines and respond to on-call needs as assigned. This position must be based within a commutable distance to our Park City, UT office in order to work onsite in a hybrid capacity throughout its employment. There will be ample opportunity for remote work leading up to the Festival in January.
Top priorities include, but are not limited to?
• Updating and maintaining the Utah-based high school contacts database (Airtable)with accurate and up-to-date information.
• Conducting outreach via email to Utah-based learning and residential communities for 13-18 year olds including public and private high schools, rehabilitation centers, detention centers.
• Screening a selection of films curated by the programming team and providing feedback on their suitability for younger audiences, ensuring compliance with content regulations.
• Curating a selection of short films to ensure adherence to content regulations and suitability for younger audiences.
• Providing ongoing and timely communication for groups inquiring about or participating in programs.
• Acting as a representative and liaison with internal and external partners, representing the program onsite at student screenings, including checking in teachers and students, and conducting onstage introductions.
• Drafting correspondence and materials, including introduction emails, film schedules with film descriptions, how-to guides for teachers, content notes, and evaluations.
• Coordinating with the Artist Relations Department to ensure filmmakers or a film representative is scheduled to participate in each screening.
• Collecting program statistics and materials for grant reporting such as attendance, demographics, attrition metrics, screengrabs, and photographs.
• Independently conducting a comprehensive wrap-report including program summary, statistical graphics, and recommendations for future success.
• Supporting additional community programming if opportunities arise.
You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Valid driver's license and successful completion of MVR background check.
• Working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases such as Airtable, proficiency in Google Suite (sheets) or Word Excel, and mail merge required.
• 2-3 years of experience working in teaching, programming, with youth groups, or related.
• Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required to work effectively with a variety of people.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Ability and ease with public speaking.
• Knowledge of high school age school systems is preferred.
