POSITION OVERVIEW
The Content Producer is a key member of the Marketing Department at the Sundance Institute, playing a crucial role in delivering powerful storytelling in all its forms. The ideal candidate will be able to identify compelling storytelling opportunities for various channels while solving communication, logistical, and scheduling challenges to ensure content is delivered on time and on budget. This position may oversee one year-round employee, as well as a large team of seasonal employees and contractors during the annual Sundance Film Festival.
Working closely under the Creative Director, the Content Producer will develop and manage organized systems, production workflows, and schedules that allow for streamlined creative output and media production. This position will also serve as the main point of contact for external organizations and sponsors that partner with the Institute in the creation of content, managing key relationships while providing creative input and feedback in all stages of production.
This position is based out of Los Angeles, CA in order to work onsite in a hybrid capacity throughout the year. This role is required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet deadlines and respond to on-call needs as assigned. Travel to work onsite at other Institute offices and events, including the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah will be required.
Top priorities include but are not limited to…
• Supporting the Creative Director in producing original content for a wide variety of uses and platforms, including but not limited to Institute website(s), social media platforms, external press outlets, and live events.
• Liaising with external partner organizations and internal departments to produce a wide variety of content for and during the Film Festival, providing direction on projects, and monitoring progress to ensure all projects are delivered on time, meet stakeholder needs, and align with the Institute brand and quality standards.
• Partnering with the Manager, Marketing to identify content needs for marketing campaigns, and overseeing the creation and management of an internal timeline for the content team on deliverables.
• Leading communications and workflows between the Content team and other Institute departments, ensuring effective exchange of information and assets.
• Managing year-round content editing across all edit projects, including providing guidance, support, training, and feedback on the work.
• Hiring, training, and managing a team of seasonal employee and contractor production coordinators, producers, editors, and photographers in the production of Festival content and marketing materials.
• Facilitating marketing photography projects, including hiring and managing contracted photographers, creating and managing schedules, assigning deliverables, and supervising onsite production to ensure content is properly captured and aligns with directives.
• Preparing and routing vendor contracts for approval with the Human Resources, Finance, and Legal Departments, and processing vendor invoices adhering to internal procedures.
• Creating and managing schedules and calendars to ensure timelines are met for content needs across all platforms (.org, social media platforms, etc.), including coordinating project documentation (proposals, requirements, etc.).
• Reviewing content from partner organizations to ensure proper alignment with the Institute's brand strategy and identity and identify how to incorporate onto our platforms.
• Staying up-to-date on emerging trends in the field.
• Building a roster of partners, at times leading RFPs (Request for Proposal), establishing and nurturing healthy working relationships with all partners, acting as primary point of contact.
• Managing simultaneous projects, prioritizing resources appropriately, and problem-solving challenges to ensure successful delivery.
• Creating and leading photo and video project plans to meet goals and requirements.
• Managing the Content team's budget, including annual building, monthly tracking, and processing invoices as outlined by the Finance Department.
• Partnering with the digital marketing teams to identify content opportunities, create production strategies to meet their needs, and to deliver necessary photo and video content.
• Managing legal rights and content usage, ensuring adherence to legal requirements when video shooting.
• Partnering with the Accessibility team to research, establish and adhere to Accessibility standards.
• Assisting in the creative development and production of year-round video content; helping to strategize and implement new formats and series that will grow our dedicated viewership.
You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• 6 years of experience developing and managing organized systems, production workflows and schedules to facilitate streamlined creative output.
• 3-5 years of experience providing creative input and feedback in all steps of production and managing vendor relationships.
• Strong leadership skills and demonstrated success managing a media production team across video, photography and digital content creation, including a strong ability to lead a team to meet goals.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to collaborate effectively with a wide range of internal and external constituents.
• Excellent organizational skills to effectively manage media creation.
• Ability to prioritize, plan, and manage projects.
• A strong grasp of the Sundance Institute brand and a passion for our mission.
• Knowledgeable in the use of Adobe Premiere, Frame.io, After Effects, Dropbox, etc.
• Prior experience managing a budget.

*Final rate of pay is determined based on the applicant's geographic location, relevant experience and skills, and internal equity among similar positions within our organization
