POSITION OVERVIEW
The Associate Director, Collab Digital Marketing leads and manages marketing efforts for Sundance Institute Collab, our global online learning and community platform for creators. This position plays an essential role in engaging diverse and global audiences, growing a passionate follower base, and driving revenue.
Working closely under the Director of Marketing, the Associate Director, Collab Digital Marketing will develop and implement strategic marketing and social media campaigns (collaborating with Social Team) to enhance the platform's reach and impact. This position collaborates closely with the Collab team, particularly the Director, Collab Courses and Events, and the Social Media team, which operates under the Communications Department to drive these efforts.
This full-time position may work remotely from within any of our operating states. Extended hours, including evenings and weekends will be required at key points throughout the year. Travel to Institute offices and events may also be required on occasion.
Top priorities include but are not limited to?
• Directing the development and execution of digital marketing strategies for Sundance Institute Collab aimed at expanding the Institute's audience (both domestic and global), deepening engagement, strengthening brand storytelling, optimizing for search engines (SEO), and driving revenue.
• Managing and supporting year-round Collab marketing team members, including hiring, training, and offering ongoing direction and feedback to foster a collaborative and supportive environment that helps each team member perform at their best.
• Leading the creation and ongoing management of the Collab marketing budget, including the leadership review and approval process, to ensure effective use of resources.
• Overseeing, creating, and implementing new concepts and content for newsletters, email and similar campaigns, while collaborating with social media on content, activations, and social media series to generate meaningful social conversation and drive engagement with Collab.
• Driving email and SMS marketing strategies, including the development of campaigns, retargeting, segmentation and flows.
• Partnering with leaders across Marketing and Communications to develop holistic, integrated campaigns for Sundance Institute Collab across all marketing channels, ensuring alignment with Institute goals.
• Creating visually compelling content and corresponding copy to drive engagement with Collab, align with Institute marketing objectives, and maintain brand consistency.
• Collaborating with marketing leads on year-round programs to enhance visibility of Collab, drive participation, and promote Collab programs across the Festival and other Institute programs.
• Developing a paid advertising plan for Collab marketing, managing the budget while identifying opportunities to improve advertising reach, and managing relationships with relevant external marketing agencies, ensuring we receive the expected value from these partnerships.
• Developing an organic social strategy that generates awareness and drives membership
• Ensuring all Collab social media content meets brand and editorial guidelines, maintaining a consistent and high-quality brand presence.
• Establishing key performance indicators and monitoring Collab digital marketing and social metrics to assess campaign success, performance, and sentiment.
• Analyzing data insights to develop responsive strategies and optimize future campaigns.
• Overseeing the creation of innovative video and graphic content to support Collab marketing initiatives and editorial needs.
You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• Minimum 8 years experience developing and executing e-commerce strategies across multiple channels.
• A keen understanding of performance analytics and deep experience in conversion tactics and growth strategies.
• A strong portfolio showcasing impactful and engaging online course/event marketing and social media work with measurable reach and engagement outcomes.
• Expertise in maximizing return from social media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Letterboxd, Reddit, and Threads, acknowledging the evolving nature of digital platforms, with a proven track record of growing audiences, engagement and conversion on each.
• Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience in coaching, providing feedback, and project management to support team success.
• Exceptional command of the English language, with advanced copywriting skills to tailor content to various social platforms.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing strategic campaigns across mobile photography and video, to create visually engaging content optimized for social media.
• Familiarity with file management and sharing tools such as File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Cloud storage, and Dropbox, as well as the ability to post content in real-time.
• Highly organized, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Effectively execute high-impact digital product campaigns for Sundance Institute Collab that boost brand awareness, engagement, and meet/surpass revenue goals.
• Partner with the social media team to drive measurable revenue growth through initiatives such as sponsored content, paid ads, and directed traffic to monetized content.
• Develop and lead a high-performing team that meets Institute goals and demonstrates strong engagement and retention.
• Consistently deliver high-quality, on-brand content that aligns with Institute values and resonates with audiences.
In addition to an annual salary of $80,000.00 to $100,000.00, this position* is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, highlights include:
