Freelance Entertainment Lighting 3D Renderer

Job Summary:
As a 3D Modeler and Renderer, you will work closely with Associate & Senior Lighting Designers in the initial ideation stages of a project to create evocative content representing lighting concepts to be presented to clients. 3D Modelers are responsible for creating quality images, videos, and interactive presentations in a detailed and timely manner that can be manipulated as design conversations with clients develop. This includes views and walkthroughs of project layouts, specialized rigging configurations, unique lighting scenarios, and visualizations of lighting cues.

Expected Qualifications:
• Proven experience 3D rendering lighting for the theatrical, event, broadcast, or gaming industries, or an otherwise applicable role. Relevant education experience considered.
• High proficiency in a selection of 3D software such as SketchUp, Rhino, Cinema 4D, or 3DS Max
• Proficiency in 3D software with accurate light modeling capabilities such as Depence, TwinMotion, Unreal Engine, L8, WYSIWYG, or Capture
• Access to modelling and rendering software by applicant preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite image compositing
• Knowledge of Vectorworks, Lightwright, AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD programs is a plus
• Basic knowledge of staging concepts including scenic, lighting, rigging systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong communication skills in English
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Unflappable, adaptable and ability to maintain positivity in a fast-paced environment
• High School Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree preferred

Job Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with lighting designers to develop ideas for models and renderings.
• Join lead designer for project meetings to discuss designs to be rendered
• Create effective renderings to communicate the designer's intent including perspective images, video walkthroughs, show cueing, moving light effects, interactive presentations, and more.
• Build 3D digital models of spaces, venues, scenery, light fixtures, and other technical elements as needed.
• Render lighting over project models to represent lighting design concepts for presentation.
• Help develop design presentations including file structure and graphical layouts
