Overview:
The Manager, National Publicity (Los Angeles) will support the overall team across all film and television/series launch and awards campaigns. This position will require knowledge and expertise within television/series, film, and public relations, with interest or experience in both marketing and advertising as well. The ideal candidate is passionate about film/television and is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, strategic and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
· Managing a team and running all day-to-day client needs
· Pitching and securing press hits with national outlets, including print, online, TV, radio and podcasts
· Overseeing comprehensive launch or awards campaigns including pitching, management of press days and events
· Organizing logistics and talent handling for junkets, premieres, awards Q&As and tastemaker events
· Advising junior staff on upkeep of key documents including status reports, critics grids, reaction memos and talent schedules
· Taking lead on maintaining company documents such as up-to-date press lists, editorial calendars and dark dates memos
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree, ideally in Communications, Marketing or Film
· 4-6 years of studio or agency experience
· Experience working on both launch and awards campaigns for film/television
· Significant relationships with key entertainment, trade and mainstream journalists
· Ability to think creatively & strategically
· Highly driven & motivated, with excellent follow-up skills
· Strong interpersonal & communication skills
Ability to manage a team and delegate tasks for multiple projects
Strong client interaction and presentation skills
Proficient writer
