Role:
We are looking for a motivated, experienced and creative stop-motion editor to join our team. In this role, you would be responsible for piecing together raw footage from the cinematographer and sound recorder to create a unique and exciting story.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the show creatives, director(s), producers, VFX artists, colorists and mix studio to perform the editorial process required to finish an episodic show within tight deadlines and to an exacting standard of quality.
• Work with and manipulate raw stop-motion footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects.
• Evaluate edited footage to make sure it matches the story from the script and meets the narrative agenda of the producer and director of the project.
• Insert music, sound, or optical effects as required.
• Edit footage into timelines and cut time out of certain shots to create a more impactful story for the audience.
• Ensure all editing cuts, splices, changes and additions appear seamless and natural and help the story flow more effectively in the finished product.
• Aid in creating the project's final cut for broadcasting.
Qualifications
• + 3 years professional editing experience, including animation.
• Experience working directly with high level executives and creatives, and the ability to make edit adjustments in the room with this audience present.
• Familiarity with the animation process from radio plays and storyboards to animatics and finishing.
• Proficient with Premiere, familiar with After Effects
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Must be able to work quickly and independently in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for a proactive self-starter!
• Applicants must be detail-oriented and have a great sense of humor.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Film Studies, Cinematography or related field
• Strong Premiere skills and knowledge of media management is required
• Familiarity with stop-motion animation required
