The Animation Rigger will have to ensure the creation/implementation of the highly versatile rigging systems, animation tools and interfaces for the execution of our projects. You will be fully empowered with close collaborations together with the Lead Animation and Technical Directors, in defining the rig requirements and the maintenance of all 3D characters throughout the animation process. This position is open for both in-house and remote.
Responsibilities:
• Implements animation control rigging systems for complex characters and props using Maya.
• Works with the Lead Rigger to ensure that all rigs meet the show's requirements.
• Oversees the characters, vehicles and props rigging through the animation pipeline.
• Develops tools and plug-ins to optimize animation and rigging workflow.
• Additional responsibilities may include facial target modeling and other organic and non-organic modeling tasks.
• Ensure the CG characters will employ all current character setup procedures.
• Troubleshoot and wrangle character-rigging issues for artists within various disciplines.
• Maintains or exceeds consistent level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high quality work.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience and understanding of techniques and technologies relating to character rigging and animation.
• Excellent understanding of human anatomy, structure, dynamics and character motion.
• Mastery of at least one of the following 3D packages 3ds Max or Maya.
• Experience working in the games industry as a character animator/rigger.
• Experience with game engine rigging and animation systems like Unity, Unreal or similar.
• Knowledge and competency with 3D software, scripting, modeling, animation, and rendering.
• Experience with creating custom support structures for character.
• Experience with multiple game engines, preferably Unity or Unreal.
• Proficient time and project management skills.
