Lead Rigger

This is a Full Time Job

As a Lead Rigger you'll supervise the rigging team, and make sure that the rig quality standards are enhanced and maintained. This position is open to both in-house and remote.

Responsibilities:
Use available studio tools to rig characters and props.
Serve as the rigging team's representative by closely working with the animation and modeling teams.
Supervise and be both an artistic and technical mentor for all the members of the team to push the team's quality.
Define, document, communicate and establish best practices and techniques for the rigging pipeline.
Oversee the team's rigs to ensure they meet production requirements for quality, consistency, and performance.
Work with Animation to understand rig requirements to create and adjust optimal rigs for production.
Assign and Manage team to ensure work and tasks are completed per schedule.
Collaborate with Supervisors, Leads, and Production team throughout production, ensuring fulsome communication and mitigating any issues.
Collaborate with technical team providing feedback in rigging and overall asset pipeline

Flexibility and resourcefulness.
In-depth knowledge of Maya rigging.
Solid understanding of anatomy and cloth.
Strong knowledge in modeling and texturing.
In-depth understanding of animation principles and how they apply to rigging.
