Essential Functions:

Teach developmental and transfer-level Theater Arts courses
Direct major theatrical performances
Participate in departmental events and student mentoring
Serve on committees and contribute to institutional improvement
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate responsiveness to diverse student backgrounds and hold:
Master's or MFA in drama/theater arts/performance or related field
OR
Bachelor's/BFA in drama/theater arts/performance with a master's in a relevant field
OR
Valid California Community College Credential
OR
Equivalent education/experience
Desirable Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with:
Experience integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion into teaching
Recent experience with racially minoritized students
Ability to adapt instructional practices to engage diverse learners
Proficiency in classical theater, including Shakespeare
Teaching experience or professional work in acting or directing
Familiarity with community college mission and goals
Conditions of Employment:
178 duty days per year
Salary and Benefits:
Starting salary: $70,302 - $105,838
Annual doctoral stipend: $2,419
Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
Membership in CalSTRS retirement system
Selection Procedure:

Interview and assessment process
Final selection by College President and Board of Trustees
Additional Information:
