This is a Full Time Job
Responsible for administering, evaluating, and overseeing a program of operational system inspection and risk mitigation, along with comprehensive safety programs that address vertical transportation safety, OSHA regulations, vehicle safety, and building systems safety. This position may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position must be able to respond to emergencies at any time.
Job Duties:
Building Systems Safety:
• Evaluate programs to periodically inspect and review the functionality and safety of all building systems, including structural, electrical, plumbing, drainage, HVAC, and fire safety systems.
• Coordinate regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with operational and safety standards and regulations.
• Organize and administer all required documentation.
Vertical Transportation Safety:
• Evaluate programs to review the safe operation and maintenance of elevators, escalators, and other vertical transportation systems.
• Coordinate regular inspections and coordinate with maintenance teams to address any issues promptly.
• Organize and administer all required documentation for licensing, including maintenance logs.
• Maintain all records required for applicable licensing requirements.
OSHA Regulations:
• Develop and administer policies and procedures that comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
• Conduct regular training sessions for staff to ensure compliance and promote a culture of safety.
Vehicle Safety:
• Oversee the safety protocols for all vehicles operating within the venue.
• Develop and administer procedures for regular inspection and maintenance of vehicles, and check compliance.
• Coordinate training of all operators on proper vehicle safety.
Risk Management:
• Identify potential safety risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and implement corrective actions as needed including all relevant stakeholders.
• Work closely with the company's Risk Manager as issues are identified and are addressed.
Safety Audits:
• Conduct regular safety audits to evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and procedures.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure that all audits are thoroughly documented and reported to senior management.
Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal code and safety regulations.
• Stay updated on changes to safety laws and regulations and adjust policies accordingly.
Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
• Prepare regular reports for senior management, risk management, and regulatory agencies.
Staff Training:
• Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for all staff members on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and compliance with safety regulations.
• Conduct regular training sessions and refreshers to ensure all staff are knowledgeable and prepared.
Education/Experience Required:
• Bachelor's degree in safety management, Occupational Health, Engineering, Construction Administration or a related field.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in facility management and/or safety management, preferably in a large venue or similar environment.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards, including, possession of OSHA General Industry Trainer Card (or ability to obtain such certification).
• Experience with vertical transportation systems, vehicle safety, and building systems safety.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively.
• Strong organizational skills required, including the ability to maintain documentation and prepare and submit all required documents to licensing authorities.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Proficiency in safety management software.
• Experience with safety training is preferred.
• Certification in safety management or related field is preferred.
