Minor League Athletic Trainer (Full-Time)
Job Description:
The St. Louis Cardinals baseball club is seeking certified athletic trainers to join our sports medicine team in a collaborative, athlete-centered approach that prioritizes long-term development, health, and performance. This full-time, benefited position will assist at one of our minor league affiliates during the 2026 season as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes sports medicine, performance coaches, performance science, registered dietetics, and mental health and performance staff. The primary responsibility is to help provide comprehensive medical care in our player development system during camps, spring training, in-season, and instructional league, driving optimal athlete outcomes and sustainable career development.
Job Duties:
• Implement and direct medical care to players and staff within the scope that is outlined
• Implement injury prevention programs in collaboration with appropriate staff
• Communicate progress, issues, plans, etc., for each player to the appropriate parties to ensure consistency
• Daily communication during the season with the affiliate manager and other uniform staff as appropriate, along with close interaction with performance coaches in order to ensure consistency with workload monitoring and programming
• Consistent communication with MiLB Medical Coordinator, MiLB Assistant Medical Coordinator, and performance staff as needed regarding progress and development of the minor league medical process at the affiliate
Education/Experience Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine or related field; or a combination of years of experience and education
• Current ATC certification
• 3 years of experience working as an Athletic Trainer in a team setting
• Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
• Good organizational, communication, and soft skills
Education/Experience Preferred:
• CSCS certification
• 5 years of experience working as an Athletic Trainer in a professional team setting
• Experience working with elite athletes
• Proactive problem-solving and familiarity with data integration into programming
• Bilingual in Spanish
