Job Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of future coverage. Responsibilities include coordinating reporter and field personnel assignments, producing segments and gathering editorial information for stories across all beats. Works closely with station management and show teams to shape future coverage.
Responsibilities:
• Scheduling and Coordination
• Coordinates upcoming coverage including but not limited to setting up interviews, gathering editorial information and research and determining logistical and technical aspects of any given story.
• Determine next day staffing for newsgathering division to ensure coverage needs are met
• Secure credentials for events requiring such
• Coordinates coverage for general news, features and special events
• Organizes video and graphic elements for stories and segments
• Works closely with Mornings on 1 producers to support show needs
• Shoot elements for future stories, on occasion
Research
• Pitch and research potential stories and segments
• Report out stories through phone interview , e-mail and Twitter communication
• Pull back any necessary archival video for stories
• Build contact relationships
Qualifications:
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Availability:
Position entails working a later shift in the day to help bridge the gap between end of day and morning coverage needs.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience; Masters preferred

Normal office environment
