Spark Productions, the NYC video production unit of McMurry/TMG is seeking an experienced video post production coordinator. We specialize in the design and production of video content for corporate events, installations, trade shows, theaters, intranets and the web.
In collaboration with our Director of Operations and other department heads, you will provide technical expertise, great client service and the digital delivery of video projects. You have a solid technical working knowledge, a background in corporate communications, and 3-4 years of post production experience in a fast paced, professional environment. You thrive on working with an array of digital formats and various tape and tapeless formats (both SD and HD) and meeting demanding deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work with the Director of Operations to facilitate our post production needs
o Gather, organize and track job information, digital files and job assets
o License music rights and stock footage
o Track expenses, compile job hours and process purchase orders
o Provide client services as needed: Meals/ copies/ shipments/ messengers etc
o Communicate with and update clients, vendors and team members
o Assist in revising and maintaining databases, systems and procedures
o Wrap jobs and prepare files and assets for archiving
• Carry out a variety of technical needs
o File downloads
o File conversions
o Encode and transcode digital media files into multiple output formats (QuickTime, Windows Media, Flash, MPEG1/2/4, mp3/WAV, etc), using various software tools including, Sorenson, Digital Rapids, TMPG, MpegStreamClip, Squeeze, etc.
o Knowledge of the following video file formats is essential: Windows Media, Quicktime (multiple codecs including H264, ProRes and Avid DNx), MXF, XDCAM & P2, MPEG1/2/4, MTS/M2T, M4V, 3GP, AVI, FLV/SWF and DIVx.
o DVD Creation and Duplication
o Perform basic assistant editing duties such as loading and logging, assemblies and minor tweaks. (Avid essential, FCP recommended)
o Post projects to the web
o Retrieve archived jobs for re-edits and postings
o Simple editing tasks such as File Management and archiving
You should have a passion for the technical aspects of video production and a solid understanding of digital formats as well as video job flow processes. An assertive approach, keen attention to detail and exceptional client service skills will be key for your success.
