Basic Qualifications:
Must have experience in HD or IR camera operations.
Core Competencies:
• Bachelor's Degree in Aviation or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Typically possesses four or more years of experience performing helicopter activities.
• Demonstrated experience performing duties such as field site and landing zone inspections, pre-flight activity meetings, developing and filing of congested area plans, external-load equipment, rigging, and group support coordination.
• Demonstrated video editing experience with industry standard software (e.g., Adobe Premier, Adobe Premier Pro, and Final Cut Pro).
• Demonstrated knowledge of camera terms such as focal length, FOV, etc.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple projects, including evaluating project status and instituting changes as needed to maximize safety.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with other departments, customers, and outside agencies.
• Recognized as an expert in the field of operation of HD/IR camera operations and helicopter work methods.
• Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
• Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and willingness to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
• Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.

Preferences:
Demonstrated knowledge of patrol method and requirements.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Demonstrated experience with SAP.
California Class A Drivers License with a HAZMAT endorsement.
Typical Responsibilities:
This position will be a Technical Specialist for the Transportation Services Division within Southern California Edison's (SCE) Operations Support Business Unit (OSBU). The Technical Specialist will operate a technically-advanced high definition camera in the infrared and visible wavelength range as a member of a helicopter patrol crew. The individual will edit and format the video for distribution to various audiences (i.e., FERC, CPUC, FAA, ISO, and Edison executives) as well as maintain and store the videos appropriately. The Technical Specialist will finalize job site readiness, develop and submit congested area plans for approval, ensure that applicable permits are filed and approved, consult with client work crews and coordinate external-load equipment, rigging, and ground support requirements as well as support the light Captain during field operations. The individual will coordinate multiple projects, evaluate project status and institute changes as needed to maximize safety. The Technical Specialist will perform inspection and analysis of proposed work and ensure department policies and procedures, Rule 145, G.O. 95 and G.O. 165 standards and applicable helicopter work methods and safe work practices are accomplished. The individual will consult with Aircraft Operations Chief Pilot, Supervisor of Flight Operations, and maintenance Supervisor to ensure safety and compliance with standard operating procedures, and project goals. The Technical Specialist will perform landing and field site selection for helicopter operations. The individual will be recognized internally as an expert in the field of operation of HD/IR camera operations and helicopter work methods. The Technical Specialist will perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
