Intern - Public Relations

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

Southard Communications, an award-winning PR agency based in Manhattan and founded in 1994, is looking for bright, creative, enthusiastic, and driven interns for the fall semester. This internship is a great opportunity for promising students seeking in-depth exposure to the rewards, challenges and excitement of being a publicist in the world's largest media hub.

The internship program at Southard offers students the chance to be mentored by experienced publicists who will provide education and help candidates cultivate skills required to succeed in PR. Armed with these skills, those who meet standards of excellence will gain the opportunity to contribute to significant elements of account service including writing press releases, pitching media, planning events, and measuring results.

As a generalist agency with clients in various industries including consumer goods, finance, environmental conservation, technology, digital media, and toys, Southard is the ideal place to experience the diversity of the public relations discipline and gain firsthand experience with an interesting mix of clients.

All candidates must be able to work a minimum of three consecutive days per week.

Ideal candidates are quick-witted, hard-working, exhibit strong initiative, demonstrate achievement in both academics and extracurricular activities, and are driven to achieve goals and succeed despite obstacles.

Both undergraduate and graduate student applicants are welcome. Graduate students may be offered advanced responsibility and training commensurate with prior experience.

This internship is unpaid but may be taken for college credit and may lead to future employment opportunities for exceptional candidates.
