Role Description
The Film Industry Liaison works as part of the SXSW Film team to coordinate, communicate and provide guidance for attending Film Industry at SXSW 2020. They support film programming efforts from creating the annual Film Industry List, Rights & Contact List, and other Industry Communications. The role is best suited for a candidate with longtime Film Industry knowledge and contacts, strong communication skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a high-stress and fast-paced environment. The Film Industry Liaison is an important and crucial part of the SXSW Film Team, working with staff to communicate logistics, oversee Film Guest ticketing, support outreach, and manage internal Industry databases.
Qualifications
Job Responsibilities:
• Manage the SXSW Film Industry List and keep up-to-date
• Assist in research and review of new Industry members
• Assist in creating and maintaining Rights & Contact List for SXSW Accepted Films
• Manage Film Guest Ticketing System, ticket allotments, and assist with ticket questions from Film Press, Industry and Filmmakers.
• Communicate with Film Buyers and Film Industry members on festival logistic questions.
• Assist in maintaining and promoting SXSW Online Film Screening Library
• Work SXSW Film registration on-site check-in with SXSW Filmmaker Liaison and SXSW Interns
Qualifications
• General Film Industry knowledge and existing contacts with Indie film distributors & studios
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Self-starter with strong prioritization and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and customer service experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Copy-editing experience
• Proficiency with Mac OS and the Google suite
• FileMaker experience recommended
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to lift 25-40 pounds regularly during March event. Frequently required to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, walking multiple miles a day during the event. Manual dexterity is required for keyboard and computer use. This position requires you to stay upwards of 14 consecutive days away from home.
Work Location & Schedule:
Position is located in Austin, Texas. Core business office hours are Mon-Fri, 10am – 6pm. Must be available to work additional hours from January – March to include evenings and weekends.
Must be available starting January 13, 2020 through April 3, 2020
